A SWEET FRAUD BY PARIS BAKERY WORTH RUPEES THIRTY FIVE CORES

PARIS BAKERY a well known brand to the people of Odisha as well Kolkata saying as per their tagline 'A Sweet Treat From Paris' was actually 'A Sweet Fraud' from the director owner Jayanarayan Pujapanda and his wife Rajalaxmi Mahasuar & Partner Vibhash Ranjan. Its established in July 2013, head office at Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar has around 40 outlets operating at various places in the country including four in Kolkata. From last couple of weeks all the outlet of Cuttack are in closed.

There is a estimation fraud of approx thirty five cores to the vendors supplying them materials, staff salary, factory store rent, franchise owners commission apart from this taking money from different people and selling one franchise to the multiple people. Several people approached the Economic Offences Wing of the State Crime Branch and lodged a complaint alleging that they were duped by bakery firm.

One of vendor said,' I was a vendor supplying them packaging sealing machine and container apart from me there is more fifty vendors who were been cheated and misguided with a huge amount of payment from past six months. The life of these fraud is very luxurious with all luxury flat, luxury car, regular foreign trips with the money which was never their own'.

A poor labor staff said,' our salary was stopped by firm from last June 2018. We are staying here in rented, how we pay the rent now. Its a suicide situation for us now, hopes we loss our four months salary'.

The victim alleged that the company has defaulted on payment of their dues worth over Rs. 22 core for the last four months. It has also duped the raw material suppliers of cores of rupees. Around eighty people including vendors, employees and raw material suppliers lodged a complaint at Nayapalli Police Station. Later the owner of the bakery chain in presence of Nayapalli Police agreed to clear the dues of the victims. However the cheques given by Jayanarayan was bounced.

Meanwhile, the victims alleged that a police officer who was reportedly in charge of Nayapalli police station was shielding the owner of the bakery. The victims alleged that earlier a police official at Nayapalli Police Station had suppressed the complaints they had field earlier.
