A kolkata photographer has landed in trouble
for doing a bold photo shoot of Ankita Bannerjee. For the last couple of days he is receiving
constant threats over phone and social media for 'hurting religious sentiments'.
On Facebook, people have threatened to kill Pritam Mitra, the photographer who
did an offbeat photo shoot with a model who posed nude.
According to Zee 24 Ghanta, the photographer
had posted the picture on a Facebook page called Bong Crush. And suddenly the
picture became viral on social media. In the picture, a girl is seen wearing a
traditional mukut, a headgear which Bengali brides wear. She is covering her
face with pan pata (betel leaves), covering her breasts with her long hair and
her private parts are covered with Sindur Kouto and her breast cover with hair,
which is another essential component of a Bengali Hindu marriage.
The picture has angered many people on social
media. While some has hailed it as a brutal slap on patriarchy, few have felt
that the photographer is belittling Bengali and Hindu culture by shooting a
bride without clothes.
But, rather than indulging in healthy debate,
few social media users resorted to giving threats. One of them is an

with Kolkata Police. The cyber crime team of Kolkata police is currently
investigating the case. Pritam is a professional wedding photographer, who has
been in the field for five years. The quest to create something unique and make
